Ram, nicknamed the Mercury Man, was the last survivor of a race of people from a distant world. His world was very much like ours, ruled by greed, hatred, and fear. They developed increasingly powerful weapons until they destroyed themselves and reduced their world to an immense nuclear wasteland. Ram came to Earth to save it from the same fate as his world. He contacted a brilliant american scientist, Dr. Erika Penn. Dr. Penn helped him regain a more human appearance and then transform back into the Mercury Man.
