Ur belongs to the Zeb, humanoids based on silicon instead of carbon, which gives them their characteristic stony appearance. The Zebs are originally from Synak, a planet that revolves around the star Sirius. They threw their bodies into space without the aid of protection or space vehicles and remained in suspended animation until they reached a new planet or something made them wake up from their suspended animation. In the 37th century AC, Thula, Princess of Mars, and Rapid Fox, her bodyguard and lover, were visiting the Arizona desert, where he was showing her the land of his ancestors when suddenly the desert came to life and an army of Stone Men arose from the ground. They had been buried there for 10,000 years, after traveling to Earth from Synak. Their leader, Ag, saw Rapid Fox and Thula and decided to capture them both. The pair fought back, but were ultimately defeated and taken prisoners. Ag decided that humans were insignificants and that the planet belonged to him and after burying Rapid Fox and Thula alive he left with his army ready to conquer. Then Ur appeared and freed the Earthlings from their stone tomb. He had decided not to follow Ag anymore and offered his help to stop the stone army. Thula called the Space Patrol base to report on the Stone Men. Ur explained them that his race was very tough, but susceptible to certain vibrational frequencies. The Space Patrol urged them to contain the Stone Men until they could arrive with sonic cannons. The trio fought the Stone Army, but they had the upper hand. Then Thula unleashed her chlorokinetic power making a thuvia forest (a typical Mars plant) grow in the middle of the desert, locking the stone warriors inside until the Space Patrol arrived and through powerful sonic cannons they returned the zeb horde to a state of suspended animation. Grateful, Thula and Rapid Fox offered Ur to join the Inter-Space Justice Syndicate and he agreed, on the condition that they helped him return to his planet.
But things would not turn out as he expected...
Ur and Jane, The Magician from Mars (and Thula's sister), developed a platonic but very intense relationship.
POWERS & WEAPONS
Ur is a life form based on silicon rather than carbon, literally being a living stone. He is much tougher than a normal human and can withstand impacts and pressures that could kill a human without suffering any discomfort. He is also many times stronger than a normal human, although his level of strength is unknown.
