Martin Hall was a scientist obsessed with the study of cosmic rays. After multiple failures, he finally believed he was capable of harnessing such incredible power, but the result of the final experiment was monstrous. Overwhelmed by cosmic energy, Martin began to mutate, his body atrophying while his brain expanded. He was barely able to turn off his equipment before he was reduced to little more than a big head. Because of his new physical state, Martin was forced to build a support suit to give mobility to the grotesque head he had become.
The mutation did not diminish his egomania and he decided to become the next ruler of the world wannabe, calling himself Marto and designing outlandish plans for global domination and super-advanced weapons with which to carry them out.
Marto got infatuated for the Green Sorceress and decided that she was the perfect mate to breed a supreme race that would dominate the world for millennia. He thought it was a good idea to kidnap Blue Bolt (the Sorceress' brother) and threaten to kill him if she didn't agree to be his bride. However, his megalomaniacal plan was foiled, the Lawmen rescued Blue Bolt and DANGER bombed his secret base, forcing him to flee and hide.
POWERS & WEAPONS
Martin Hall was already a brilliant scientist, but after being mutated by cosmic rays, his brain capacity was multiplied. With an IQ twenty times that of any human being, Marto is able to invent all kinds of futuristic weapons, devise Machiavellian plans and be nine steps ahead of the majority (unfortunately for him, his arrogance is still ahead of his intelligence). His first technological achievement as Marto was his hover-crib, a life support suit that gives him mobility thanks to its anti-gravity system, and which is equipped with force shields, impervious alloy tentacles and a disintegrator ray, among many other gadgets.
