Motoko Johei (Mo-Jo) was the leader of the Issunboshi Squad. This group was the result of miniaturization experiments conducted by Imperial Japanese scientists. The Japanese developed a technology capable of temporarily shrinking a human to insect size and used it to create a squad of soldiers and saboteurs. However, Motoko Johei and his raiding force were stopped by the Battle Squadron.
