Paula Methot was an exceptionally skilled jewel thief. One of her most important coups took place on the docks of New York. The clever editor of an important newspaper baptized her "The Wharf Rat." Far from being offended, Paula was amused by the idea of having a nom de guerre, a true alter-ego, contrary to what the fundamental rule of the good thief dictates: anonymity. And that's how the Wharf Rat was born. Paula's blows gained notoriety and she became increasingly bold and daring. This caught the attention of several paranormal heroes who made things really difficult for the Wharf Rat. Although Paula was a white-collar thief and avoided any type of confrontation above all else, when she changed her modus operandi this procedure become more and more difficult, sometimes putting her in the position of having to kill in order to achieve her goal or to remain free.
POWERS & WEAPONS
Paula Methot was a really good thief. She had perfect physical condition, she was an acrobat and contortionist, a master of disguise, and had also studied the form and working methods of the best thieves in history. When she decided to adopt the personality of the Wharf Rat she designed a rat costume with certain improvements (infrared lenses, enhanced hearing, protection against small caliber weapons, low friction coating, etc.). Paula also added diamond tips to the gloves as claws.
