Althea was a beautiful young woman who lived alone in a huge old family mansion. A film producer in search of locations (Mr. Heff) was impressed by her mysterious beauty and offered her the main role in his next film, "The House of the Vampire." Jed Mathews, the film's publicity manager, would market her as a real vampire: Althea, the Vampire Queen. Althea decided to play along and the movie became a hit. Then Mr. Heff offered her a lucrative new contract, but Althea decided to retire from being the Vampire Queen because she wanted people to love her, not to fear her. Althea and Jed Mathews had spent a lot of time together and she had fallen in love with him. During a date, she decided to confess her feelings to him, but he politely rejected her. Then Althea discovered that Jed was a real vampire and he killed her to keep his secret. A grand funeral was held in honor of Althea and shortly after, her grave was desecrated... The thing that no one knew then was that Althea herself was the one who took her body out of the earth... As a vampire! Lost and unable to kill for feeding, she was found by Mr. Teller, who aided her and made her a member of his Night Shift.
POWERS & WEAPONS
Althea is a vampire with a soul, possessing all of the typical vampire powers and, thanks to Mr. Teller, only a fraction of the bloodlust and sunlight weakness.
