HISTORY 

Bill Anderson was an American seaplane pilot and adventurer who crashed on a lost island in the Pacific Ocean. On the island lived a wise and venerable old man, the Jade Turtle Master. The Master liked the foul-mouthed American, and was pleased to teach him the Jade Turtle Style of Kung Fu. 

Anderson spent several years on the island, devoting himself entirely to training with Shifu, until the day a merchant ship passed close enough to see Anderson's signals. With the master's blessing, and the promise to use his wushu only for good, Bill returned to the world... Specifically to China, a country that had just come into conflict with the Japanese Empire. The brutality the Japanese used against the Chinese made Bill take it personally. He decided to become a symbol of resistance against the invader, so he put on a disguise and, calling himself the Jade Turtle, helped the Chinese in guerrilla warfare against the Japanese invaders. Bill Anderson found a partner and apprentice in Wing Lee aka Terrorpin, a young orphan whom he had rescued from execution by the Imperial Japanese Army.
