In 1942, Bill Fawcett was an African-American food truck owner who helped an elderly man who was being attacked by a gang of criminals in a park. By doing this, Bill's truck was destroyed. As a gesture of gratitude, the old man taught Bill a magic word that turned him into The Harlem Wonder.
POWERS & WEAPONS
The powers of The Harlem Wonder are granted by the Seven African Powers (Elegua, Obatala, Oggun, Chango, Yemaya, Oshun, and Orunmilla). The Seven are the most powerful and revered Orishas (spirits similar to demigods or saints). When Bill screams ORISHA! he becomes the Champion of the Seven, with superhuman strength, stamina, courage, wisdom, power, speed, and toughness.
