Brick Reese is an idealistic young man with a law degree from Harvard University who, after 9/11, volunteers to fight Islamic terrorism and make a difference.
But upon arrival, the young man will literally find hell in the deserts of the Middle East. Brick's battalion is chosen to test the new experimental compound Q-47, but the drug has unexpected effects...
Most of the battalion is found dead and horribly mutilated, except for 13 of them who are reported missing in action (including Brick). Some months later Brick returns home as if nothing had happened... Apparently... Shortly after joining Williams & WIlliams, a prestigious L.A. law firm, a major client of the firm, singer Julie Storm, is kidnapped. It is then that a mysterious dark figure, The Hell-Rider, begins to prowl the underworld of Los Angeles. The ghostly biker will find and rescue the young star, unleashing his infernal power on the unwary kidnappers. Hell-Rider has teamed up with Black Butterfly and other Antichthon heroes on more than one occasion.
POWERS & WEAPONS
The extent of the Hell-Rider's powers is unknown. Presumably the Q-47 compound is somehow related to the Hell-Rider's powers, but where did his motorcycle come from? What happened in the Middle East? Where are the other 12 subjects in the experiment who were not found? He is known to possess superhuman strength, appears to be immune to physical damage, and possesses some control over fire. His motorcycle is capable of incredible speeds, it appears and disappears as if by magic and is capable of rebuilding itself after being destroyed or suffering any damage.
