Nina Čaroban, Lady Illyria, is the number one agent of the Illyrian Movement, an underground organization that has sought and defended the political and territorial unity of the Balkan Peninsula since the early 19th century. The Illyrians have fought against the Nazis and against the Communists and also against other foreign powers that have tried to control the Balkans, including the United States and the UN. Its worst moment was the Balkan Wars at the end of the 20th century, where brothers fought against brothers and killed each other like animals.
Nina is a high-level spy, hostile to any foreign interference in the Balkan Peninsula. She considers herself a patriot and has her own code of honor. She can be deadly, but she usually doesn't kill more than is strictly necessary to achieve her goals.
