Danny Hogan is the son of Albert 'Trigger' Hogan, a mob assassin betrayed by his bosses and killed in a shootout with the police. With his last words, Trigger asked his son not to follow in his footsteps and to become a musician (since he was a prodigy on the saxophone), but the young man, poisoned with hatred, swore revenge on the forces of order. Danny assumed the secret identity of Jolly Roger and forcibly proclaimed himself the leader of his late father's gang. Despite being a criminal and hating the police to death, Danny has a good heart and always tries to cause as little harm to civilians.

Danny was a Julliard student until the death of his father. In addition to being an excellent saxophonist, he also practiced other performing arts that he later used in his criminal career. Danny was a good acrobat, had advanced knowledge of horsemanship and fencing. He was also an expert in make-up, impersonation, and knew a little about sleight of hand.
