Dermot W. Darcan aka William Duncan aka Blackstar the caped titan of crime was a criminal mastermind and gang leader with a certain sense of honor. He never murdered or was rude to women and he never allowed his men to do so. He always kept his word and his reputation was everything to him. Beyond murder, however, there were few crimes that Blackstar considered off limits to him, and he prided himself on being a "genuine outlaw".
When members of his own gang betrayed and murdered him, his twin daughters, Doris and Darla, plotted revenge on those who had betrayed his father.
As the mysterious Madam Madcap, the girls picked off the conspirators one by one, then seized leadership of Blackstar's gang.
POWERS & WEAPONS
The girls had vast resources and were exceptionally intelligent. At first they used the fact that they were identical twins to pass Madam Madcap off as a supernatural creature capable of being in two places at once, but once that trick was discovered, Darla dyed her hair black and started wearing a uniform with inverted colors. The twins had a protector, Sambo, an ebony colossus, the last loyal member of their father's gang.
