The hieroglyphs indicated the woman as Sheba, founder of the mythical kingdom of the same name and predecessor of the mythical Queen of Sheba from the time of King Solomon. The symbols carved into the stone also included a warning... But before Pierce could decipher it, the mummy came to life and absorbed the life force of the group of archaeologists.

Sheba is an energy vampire: instead of drinking the blood of her victims, she "drinks" their life force, their energy, leaving only a mummified corpse. She needs to absorb life energy to stay alive. If her energy level drops too low, she reverts to her mummified dormant state until another fool gets too close. She can also control a human with her "kiss", and have them carry out all of her telepathic commands. It's a little known fact, but Sheba is also capable of assuming the form of a gigantic golden cobra.
