According to the legend, the Red Knight was a great champion who fought with King Richard the Lionheart in the Crusades. He traveled back to England with a beautiful rubi from the helmet of Saladin himself. While spending the night in southern France, in the castle of the Count of Beaufort, the Count sent his men against the Red Knight to seize the jewel. The Red Knight defeated his attackers, but was stabbed from behind by Beaufort himself. While he was dying, the Red Knight cursed the ruby. Little after Beaufort was possessed by the spirit of the Red Knight and murdered all his loved ones. When he returned in himself the Count hid the Ruby in his castle and committed suicide going through his own sword. During World War II the castle served as the SS headquarters. A German officer, Major Von Essen, was possessed by the Red Knight and massacred his own soldiers. However, he managed to dominate the curse to some extent and became a threat to allied forces. But in the end the blood curse caught up with him too. The last bearer of the Ruby of Blood and the curse of the Red Knight was a French antiquery, Henri Renaud, who took the jewel to the United States, in theory to sell it, but by then he was already prey to the curse and he made the blood run too In the New World. Luckily, the paranormal champions would be there to face the bloody madness of the Red Knight.
POWERS & WEAPONS
When the Curse of the Ruby of Blood possessed someone, this person was able to manifest the armor of the Red Knight and his sword. The bearer became really resistant to physical damage and acquired a huge strenght. He also acquired the ability to fade into a red mist. The curse demanded blood and was never satisfied.
