Richard Georg Platte, aka Red Regent was a rogue communist agent with the ability to control and manipulate fire. The red regent was once an ordinary blast furnace worker in the German Democratic Republic. One day he suffered a horrible accident that would have had to be deadly, but instead mutated his body into a igneous mass. He had to be confined in a special containment room until a suit was designed that could withstand the tremendous temperatures generated by his body. He cheated the Soviets to believe that he would serve them, but he was really serving them for their own interests, since he did not feel any sympathy for communists. They sent him to the United States as their agent and there, he faced the American paranormal heroes and in one of these encounters he faked his own death to completely separate himself from Soviet influence. After this he has acted from the shadows.

He is tremendously intelligent and calculating. He has control over fire and was also a good fighter. His suit helped him control his powers and allowed him to interact with his environment without turning it into smoking ashes.
