HISTORY
POWERS & WEAPONS
Yarko possessed a magical ruby, the Ada La Hoda, that was the source of his power and allowed him to project force fields, shapeshifting, alter his size at will, become invisible and/or intangible, exorcise spirits, telekinesis, levitation, teleportation, transmutation, and many other incredible feats depending on his willpower. Yarko focused the power of the ruby by making gestures or reciting a spell (sometimes spoken backwards). His single biggest weakness was that he relied heavily on his sight. The Ada La Hoda has a twin gem, the Ada La Hida which is guarded by the Indian sect that trained Kenneth Willson, because if both gems fell into the wrong hands their combined power would be devastating.
Yarko The Great was a talented stage magician who was also secretly a real magician. He traveled the world using his vast magical abilities, fighting crime and injustice, as well as supernatural threats, wherever he went. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Yarko joined the Battle Squadron along with most of the American mystery men.
