Norton Allen was always an angry person, having grown up surrounded by hatred. Her mother became a member of the Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacist organization that experimented on her while she was pregnant with Norton, as part of an attempt to create a superior race of white men.
Norton was indoctrinated in irrational hatred of minorities from his earliest childhood. When he turns 18, Norton enlists in the military and during his service in Afghanistan he survives a Taliban attack, which leaves his face scarred and awakens his altered genes. Back in the United States, Norton, under the nickname "The Wrench", becomes a notorious member of the Brotherhood. He participates in various acts of sabotage and attacks on minorities, coming to confront some superheroes, especially War Eagle.
POWERS & WEAPONS
The Wrench possesses superhuman strength and a high degree of imperviousness to damage. He can withstand large amounts of shock force and is virtually bulletproof.
