Dan Collins, a tough Daily Star reporter, was falsely accused of the murder of a police officer. He hides in a cathedral planning his next move and there he finds a trunk with a costume (top hat, suit, cape, all green; and a white wig). With this strange disguise and with the church as a secret hideout, he becomes the costumed vigilante known as the Gargoyle. Collins pursued the men who incriminated him until he managed to clear his name and get the exclusive. He then continued to use his colorful disguise to fight crime.
