Planet Ato is a world very similar to Earth in appearance. However, the dominant species in Ato is a race of apes that has great intelligence and a very technologically advanced society. Another race of creatures, this time vaguely similar to terrestrial humans, the sub-beings, serve the apes as pets, beasts of burden, or experimental guinea pigs. Wild sub-beings were rare and most of these were kept in zoo-like enclosures. The apes of Ato follow a single leader, their chieftain, their king, a ruthless and megalomaniacal creature called Maytus. The Legions of Maytus arrived on Earth via wormhole in search of lands to conquer and new sub-beings to enslave: The Human Race.
