HISTORY 

The Shape was originally an artificial life form created by Professor Scuba by exposing a protoplasmic mass made of special chemicals to an ultraionized hyperluminic beam. However, it was Kevin Boyd, Scuba's careless laboratory assistant, who accidentally caused that protoplasm to gain consciousness. At first his mind was similar to that of a small child, but he soon evolved into a crazy teenager, perhaps because of the bond created with young Boyd. Together they lived many adventures and The Shape became part of the Crime Smashers, the most famous team of paranormal heroes. Using his ability to change shape and appearance, the Shape was able to create an alter-ego, Roy Richards, private investigator. 

POWERS & WEAPONS 

The Shape's powers derive from his physiology, being an artificial life form created by Professor Scuba. The Shape possesses complete control over its physical structure, being able to alter its mass and constitution at will. There seems to be no limit to the sizes and shapes he can take. The only limitation he has concerns color, which he cannot change without intense concentration, so he generally sticks to his basic scheme (black, yellow and white, plus his artificial skin tone). His artificial body appears to be immune to most physical impacts, except for sudden changes in temperature, ultrasonic waves, and solvents, but in no case is the damage caused permanent. Their body mass can disperse, but it tends to recompose and regenerate more or less quickly, depending on the severity of the damage. Being an artificial being, he does not age either and has little vulnerability to psychic attacks.
