David 'Cat-Man' Merrywether, a US Air Force Colonel, came across Katie Conn, an 11-year-old orphan whom her unscrupulous uncle was using as bait for his robberies. After putting him behind bars, Colonel Merrywether took Katie in as her ward and trained her to turn her into a fighter. Katie graduated first of her class from West Point and after a year of service in Afghanistan she became a SEAL and entered special operations. DANGER, the top secret organization in the United States, laid eyes on her and offered her a position as an undercover agent, codename CATWALK. It was at DANGER that she met Lance Cooper, aka Green Archer, who would become her partner and future husband. After becoming pregnant and suffering a traumatic experience while on a mission, Kat rethinks her entire life. She marries Lance and leaves DANGER, dedicating herself to raising her child (and those who would come after) in a quiet residential neighborhood on Long Island.

Kat was an expert in various forms of hand-to-hand combat, including kickboxing and judo, and was also familiar with a wide range of firearms, although her weapon of choice was an electric whip. She was very well versed in covert operations and espionage and was fluent in Spanish, Arabic and Chinese. She was also an accomplished pilot.
