HISTORY 

Bruce King was an engineering student who began to suffer a strange phenomenon: his body seemed to uncontrollably generate a type of wave that produced a series of physical effects: First, the neutralization of heat, resulting in intense cold. Second, a complete and impenetrable darkness, the light totally neutralized. And third, alterations of the gravitational field. Every time his powers were unleashed, chaos took over everything around him. King used his scientific knowledge to create the Black-Zero, a device he used to control his abilities. Looking for the origin of his "affliction" he met Gale O'Leary, a young woman who had also recently discovered his special powers. Together they came to the conclusion that they were brothers, biological children of the hero Black Diamond and the villainess Killer Plant. Bruce designed a suit and became Black-Zero, the King of Darkness, and Gale did the same by assuming the alias of Jill O'Wisp. Together they joined other sons and heirs of members of the Crime Busters to form the Young Heroes Alliance.

POWERS & WEAPONS 

King was able to create an area of ​​cold and total darkness where he was the only one able to see. The cold that he could generate was so intense as to quickly incapacitate anyone who wasn't protected or make steel as brittle as glass. With time and training, Bruce was able to use his power to fly or make objects or other people fly under his command, in a controlled way.

HISTORY

Lenore Franklin was the secretary, laboratory assistant, and girlfriend of Dr. Lewis Parker, a scientist who sought to turn plants into animated beings. There was only one small problem: the only successful specimen the doctor had gotten only fed on human blood... The obsession to carry out his experiments made him recourse to the robbery of graves and the kidnapping of a fugitive criminal named Danny Raphel to feed the specimen. Lenore lashed out at Lewis calling him a murderer, but during the struggle she was accidentally killed. Watching her beloved die, Lewis regained her sanity and to save her life, he took blood from the plant and injected it into Lenore. The injection revived the young woman, however she began to transform into a human-plant hybrid with the same killer instincts as the specimen. Ironically Dr. Parker was assassinated while achieving his goal of creating plant-human hybrid. Lenore was reported missing...

POWERS & WEAPONS

As a human-plant hybrid, Lenore needs water and sunlight to photosynthesize... And blood!!! She is able to mind control plant life around her, animate vines or roots to ensnare or strangle her opponents, and command trees to move and attack. Her bond with plants is symbiotic in nature; she can manipulate them, but she also needs to maintain contact with them for her own mental health and perhaps for her physical existence. Lenore is extremely strong and resistant to physical damage.
