Foundry worker Patrick Dempsey suffers an unfortunate and horrible accident when a vat of red-hot metal is spilled on him.
However, instead of dying, Pat undergoes an inexplicable transformation: his skin turns into a kind of organic metal, turning him into a true metal man. Dempsey quits his job at the foundry and is recruited by Professor Supermind to be part of the Atomic Squad's second incarnation as Man O 'Metal.
POWERS & WEAPONS
In his normal human form, he is as vulnerable as anyone else, but when he transforms into Man O 'Metal his organic metal skin is practically invulnerable and his physical strength increases to superhuman levels.
Pat, in his armored form, is also capable of increasing his body temperature to such an extent that he is able to melt other metals and even concrete with his touch.
