Marcia Reynolds was an ordinary secretary in Titan City, USA. But within her she harbored untold genetic potential. This potential was discovered by the Brain Lords of Cymradia, one of the oldest extra-terrestrial races, who abducted her and turned her into Specimen Nine of Project: Survival. The Cymradians possessed incredible mental powers and incredibly advanced technology, but their bodies were weak, so they were forced to project their minds onto android bodies (called Synthopoids) to perform the most physical activities.
The purpose of Project: Survival was to get specimens from different worlds that possessed high genetic potential and boost it, and then use those bodies as a replacement for their own. The Cymradians determined that Marcia was "the prize of prizes" and renaming her 'Futura', they triggered her genetic potential, turning her into a super-being. However, as the Cymradian called Mentor had warned, the latent courage that was deep inside the earthling also came to light, leading the other test subjects in a revolt against the Cymradians, finally managing to escape from Cymradia Prime, the planet of the Brain Lords. After various space adventures, Marcia managed to return to Earth, where she was recruited by DANGER's director, Jack Battle, for his extra-normal response team, the Fixers.
POWERS & WEAPONS
The experiments carried out on Marcia by the Cymradian Brain Lords granted her amazing powers beyond ordinary mortals. Futura's body constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it into energy that she can use for a variety of purposes. First off she is capable of increasing her strength, durability, and stamina to superhuman levels. Futura also possesses the ability to levitate herself and/or others for transportation. She can survive in the vacuum of space without help. She can also channel and project destructive blasts of energy or unleash all of her stored energy in a pseudo-nova blast (so powerful that she only uses it as a last resort). She is also capable of psionically assimilating other languages, an ability that was especially helpful on her space travels.
