HISTORY
Gaia, Mother Nature, the Spirit of the Earth, creates champions to save the planet from the evil that men can do. Her first champion was a dead pilot from the First World War. But this didn't turn out very well (he turned into some kind of plant monster). In the 1930s, she offered Bobbie, an orphan boy to become her champion and by shouting her name (GAIA!), the boy transformed into Captain Wonder and fought against the Nazis and other threats. Dave and Wendy Crandell were orphaned and adrift when their family's yacht was sabotaged. Mother Nature saved the children and by saying her name they transformed into Nature Boy and Nature Girl, the Twin Wonders of Nature.
