HISTORY 

Matthew Price Jr. was actually the son of Gloria Travers (Ranger Girl) and the alien villain Super-Brain, who inseminated her as an experiment to obtain a hybrid. Gloria considered having an abortion, but she was not able to. Instead, she changed her appearance and she walked far away. Calling herself Mary Doolin she met a good man named Matthew Price, who wanted to make her his wife and give his surname to her unborn child. Unfortunately, before the baby was born, the couple was involved in a car accident when they crashed into an electrical tower. Matt Price Sr. died instantly, but Gloria and her son miraculously survived completely unharmed. She would later learn that the baby had unconsciously used his psychic powers to protect her. From his birth, Matt Jr. demonstrated intelligence and learning abilities superior to "normal" children. In addition, over the years, he give new samples of those psychic abilities that had saved his mother and himself when he was still in her womb. Fortunately, the boy was smart enough to hide his powers in public. He was also able to discover his true origin for himself and that revelation led him to want to right all the wrong caused by his biological father, using his paranormal abilities for the greater good. As an adult, Matt Jr. was contacted by the Organization of Active Anthropologists, actually a front for DANGER, which made him a kind of double agent within the paranormal community. As Brain Boy he joined other heirs and children of The Crime Busters members to form The Young Heroes Alliance. 

Matt and his teammate Gale Leary, aka Jill O'Wisp, became romantically involved. 

POWERS & WEAPONS 

Brain Boy could read minds, use telekinesis to lift objects or fly himself, control minds, alter emotional states and he was also super intelligent. However, using his powers required a lot of mental energy, especially when he confronted another telepath, and he could quickly become exhausted.

HISTORY

Super-Brain was an extra-terrestrial scientist who came to Earth some time before the 1940s. He set out to conquer the planet, but he didn't have the resources or manpower to pull it off. He allied himself with the Axis powers, who were more than happy to provide him both in exchange for his help with their own imperial ambitions. He came up with several plans to destroy America, but he was stopped at every turn by Rangers of Freedom and the Ranger Girl. He got obsessed especially with the latter, trying to turn her into his concubine. Finally, he decided to turn her into his forced rental belly to obtain a human-alien hybrid. Fruit of this monstrous action would be born the hero Brain Boy.

POWERS & WEAPONS 

Super-brain possessed telepathic and telekinetic abilities, which he could further boost through technology of his own invention (to the point where he could simultaneously influence large portions of the population in all major American cities). He engineered a fungus-like bio-weapon that could grow around any object, spreading at exponential rate. The inorganic materials were gradually corroded while the organic materials were turned into an explosive gas. He invented a serum that granted temporary mmortality, a submersible island base, two-way video communicators and other devices. His large head made it hard for him to walk, so he preferred to remain in a wheelchair, but he could walk with the aid of telekinesis when necessary. During 1940s, he used a regular wheelchair characteristic of this time period, but time after he got a more futuristic self-propelled wheelchair. 

RANGERS OF FREEDOM

HISTORY

The Rangers of Freedom were Biff Barkley, Tex Russell, and Peter Cabot, three young men who represent the best of american youth. 

They donned patriotically themed costumes and together with Ranger Girl (Gloria Travers) they fought nazi saboteurs, japanese spies and super-villains like the Super-Brain or the Black Dragon Society. 

They were helped in their adventures by Gloria's uncle, former US Army Ranger, Captain Morgan Travers. 

Though they had no powers, the Rangers were good fighters.
