HISTORY 

Maureen Halson was the daughter of a fishing boat captain from Gloucester, Massachusetts. One day, after being told that she was not old enough to sail with her father, she hid on board, with the bad luck that the ship was wrecked. Maureen drowned. But miraculously she was rescued from death and taken to the underwater city of Mermea, where Queen Merma made her her protégé. Maureen Marine helped to protect her new home from its hostile neighbors and other threats. She fell in love with, Algernon "Algie" Kelp, the youth partner of Barry Kudasiewizc (known as the adventurer Barracuda). Maureen and Algie joined the Tyro Team.

POWERS & WEAPONS 

By bringing her back to life, Maureen gained the ability to breathe underwater. In addition, their physiology was improved to cope with the cold and extreme underwater pressure. Maureen was a good tactic, as demonstrated when she devised the plan that defeated the Miromen.

HISTORY

 Algie was the water-breathing sidekick to adventurer Barry "Barracuda" Kudasiewizc. He was also a native to the United States, just like his mentor. He helped to defend the undersea kingdom of Mermea from its hostile neighbors and the raiders from the surface. Algernon joined other young heroes to form the Tyro Team. He is romantically involved with Maureen Halson, aka Maureen Marine

HISTORY

Bartholomew Kudasiewizc (Barry Kuda for short) was an adventurer from the United States, eventually becoming the champion of the underwater kingdom of Mermea, protecting it from both its hostile neighbors and incursions by people from the surface. He and his young friend Algernon "Algie" Kelp were draggeded into a whirlpool and swept to Mermea, where they underwent special treatment that gave them the ability to survive in the deep sea. Barry married Queen Merma and Algie, initially wishing to return to the United States, changed his mind when he met Maureen, Queen Mermea's protégé. Barry joined the Crime Smashers but always having as priority the affairs of the Underwater Kingdom of Mermea. 

POWERS & WEAPONS

Barry is a great fighter, with and without weapons. Thanks to the treatment he underwent on Mermea, he is stronger, faster, and tougher than a normal human. His senses and reflexes are also superior, as is his life expectancy and vigor.
