HISTORY 

5000 years ago, in a parallel dimension there was a war, the delta, a technologically evolved and peaceful race, were attacked by a race of extremely warlike feline humanoids. The delta were almost completely wiped out. A few survived in underground shelters. Foreseeing the total extinction of his race, Professor Jok-5 created the 3-D suit for his son Jax. He then reduced the young man to a binary code and stored it on a disk that he sent to our dimension. In the 1980s the drive found its way into the hands of a young computer genius, Danny Davis, who was able to crack Jax. It was Danny who named Jax "Captain 3-D". The felines had devastated Delta and now they were hungry for the Earth, infiltrating and using the superior technology they had stolen from the Delta. Captain 3-D was able to thwart their plans of conquest. Time later he would be recruited by the renewed Death Patrol.

HISTORY 

Sergeant Joseph "Joe" Strong was a paramarine with the 1st Marine Parachute Battalion during World War II. His unit was in action at the Pacific Theater for a short period of time, during which Strong developed a deep bond and a great sense of loyalty with the men in his battalion, especially Marine Wallace Angel. During a mission, Private Doug Danville (aka the Black Owl) saved Sergeant Strong's life and years later, Strong returned the favor when he saved Danville from a certain death. After the war, Strong spent time in the Marine Corps, but eventually joined the DANGER organization. It is believed that he had a lot to do with the reactivation of the Death Patrol in the second half of the 80s.

Strong was exceptional with firearms, a great shot. He also stood out as a hand-to-hand fighter, with a rough and slum style, but tremendously effective. But the best characteristic of him, without a doubt, was his leadership ability, serving as an example for the men in charge of him in each and every one of the combat situations in which he took part.

HISTORY 

Ms. Rodd was raised as a boy by her father, a seasoned combat veteran, so it was not surprising that when Constance came of age she decided to join the United States Armed Forces. Connie excelled as a mechanic and pilot. She was truly capable of piloting and repairing almost any vehicle. Her comrades-in-arms nicknamed her "Miss Fix It".

After graduating from the army, she was recruited by the Death Patrol.

HISTORY 

Mary Brinker was born with genetic alterations that caused her strength and resistance to physical harm to develop to superhuman levels. She worked as a carnival strongwoman and also as a wrestler using the alias of Madame Muscle. She usually fought and easily defeated men or groups of men, with the exception of another superhuman fighter, Daphne Dill (aka Demolisher), whom she was never able to defeat. Mary herself contracted a debt with a gangster named Ratt and to pay it off she began working as a thug for him, thus starting her career as a criminal. Over time, Mary grew fed up with Ratt's abuse and always being in the background, so she eliminated her boss and assumed leadership of the gang. For a while things went pretty well for her, but some of her minions didn't feel quite happy with being led by a woman and set her up. She appeared to die in an explosion, but some time later she reappeared as a member of the Death Patrol.

Del Van Dyne Jr.

HISTORY 

Delmer Van Dyne worked as a pilot for Universal Airlines, based at Laguardia Field. In 1941 he was fired and stole a Boeing 307 Stratoliner with the intention of flying to England to join the RAF. By chance or fate that same day five escaped convicts hid in that same Boeing 307. The fugitives ordered him to fly to Boston, but in spite of that he headed for England and, along the way, managed to persuade the outlaws (Van Dyne dropped the parachutes out of the plane and threatened to crash the aircraft) to fight the Nazis. The unarmed Boeing 307 arrived in England during a German bombing raid, and the escapees managed to destroy an enemy bomber by throwing oil drums at it. They were immediately recruited by the Special Air Service (SAS). Under Van Dyne's leadership, the motley crew was dubbed the Death Patrol and adopted gray and black striped uniforms as a symbolic gesture. The Death Patrol insignia was a skull with a hat. The team proved to be highly effective, albeit at great cost, losing one member on each mission. Van Dyne himself was assassinated by a member of the French resistance while impersonating a high-ranking Nazi party official (with the intention of assassinating Hitler and ending the war). 

Delmer had a son, Delmer Van Dyne Jr. who followed in his father's footsteps in the air force and also in heroism. He was first part of the Ghost Guard, a group of unorthodox heroes, and then, again in the footsteps of his father, as the leader of a new Death Patrol.

HISTORY 

The first Black Lobo was a veteran of the Civil War, a true hero of the Wild West, who came to possess one of the largest gold fortunes in history. Legend has it that he was framed for a crime he didn't commit, and after clearing his name, he became one of the greatest bounty hunters that ever lived. His descendant, Jack, renounced the family inheritance (except for one of the gold coins stamped with the mark of Lobo, which he carried as a talisman), and set out to make his fortune on his own. But his path seemed to lead him inexorably in the footsteps of his ancestor. After a tour of duty in the army, he returned home and was charged with murder. He managed to elude the police and hunted down the real culprit. And after handing him over to the police, he decided to embrace his heritage, but not the one his family expected: Jack decided to become a bounty hunter, and like his great-great-grandfather, he became one of the best ever. So much so, that the government offered him a position as "guardian" in the "Death Patrol" unit, made up of inmates with extraordinary abilities who carried out covert operations in exchange for reduced sentences. And finally, John Lobo, aka Black Lobo, found his place in the world in the most unexpected (and dangerous) place.

Spade served during World War II alongside Death Patrol leader Delmer Van Dyne Sr., Air Force Captain Steve Savage, and Commander Bill Battle, of the Atomic Commandos. 

Two decades after the end of the war, Spade became the leader of DANGER, dealing with paranormal threats and rogue superhumans. Late in his career, Spade was responsible for reviving a revamped Death Patrol. 

His calling card was the Ace of Spades, a symbol that came to command true respect.

DEATH PATROL

HISTORY 

August, 1941. 

The original Death Patrol was a squad of criminals and misfits who fought for the United States in World War II. They were distinguished by their striped convict suits. Casualties were frequent, but each killed in combat was replaced almost instantly by a new member. The original team included Del Van Dyne (the leader), Butch O'Keefe, Peewee, Hank (the cowboy), Slick Ward, and Gramps. Other team members included: Zazzy, Chief Chuck-a-Lug, Native African King Hotintot, Boris "The Borsht Eater", Patchwork Kid (Frere "Jackie" Jacques), Mademoiselle de Armentieres, The Goucho, Prince Totintot (son of King Hotintot and his substitute) and the Hindu mystic Yogi.

They had a secret base on the Islet of Santa Muerte (near Puerto Rico). 

November, 1986. The Death Patrol was reactivated as a secret operation of the United States Government, giving the possibility of reducing their sentences to convicts with exceptional abilities, in exchange for participating in high risk missions... and survive!
