HISTORY 

The immortal adventurer named Jon was actually a native of ancient Atlantis, a hedonist, heartthrob, and womanizer, who left a trail of broken hearts wherever he went. Eventually, a jilted husband decided to give him what he deserved... The cuckold hired a necromancer who made Jon immortal and trapped him in a block of amber, as a trophy. Ironically, this act of revenge prevented Jon from dying when Atlantis was destroyed. His body remained preserved for centuries, long after the fall of Atlantis, until it finally washed up on the shores of Africa, where the amber shattered and Jon was set free. From that moment he spent his long life wandering the world, courting any beautiful woman he came across. While he was good at the courtship part, he never knew how to stay engaged. Of course, the fact that he was doomed to outlive all of his lovers probably didn't help. 

Among his most famous lovers were, for example, Cleopatra, Salomé or Lucretia Borgia. Gossips say that Rodolfo Valentino copied his look. HISTORY 

Dr. Thomas Franklin, a psychologist, learned the ability to transfer his mind to lower life forms such as a parrot, a zoo gorilla, or a dog. He used this power to solve crimes and catch criminals. He had the invaluable collaboration of his assistant Wun, who watched over his human body while he was inside an animal. It was Wun who started calling him Dr. Zoo, for obvious reasons. 

Dr. Zoo joined other heroes under the leadership of an immortal from ancient Atlantis named Jon. 

The other members of the team were Del Van Dyne Jr. (leader of the top-secret government team known as the Doom Patrol), Deep Sea Dawson (internationally renowned diver and oceanographer), Steve Svenson (leader of the Sand Hogs), Entomo (who can duplicate the powers of any insect), Alani (sovereign and protector of the Vanishing Isles), and Flip Falcon (the tetra-dimensional traveler). When Dr. Thomas Franklin makes eye contact with a creature from the animal kingdom, he can insert his mind into the animal's body and control its motor functions. Franklin's body is then left in a catatonic trance state in which he is very vulnerable (hence the importance of Wun). Dr. Franklin is able to pass from one animal body to another without having to pass through his human body first.

Del Van Dyne Jr.

HISTORY 

Delmer Van Dyne worked as a pilot for Universal Airlines, based at Laguardia Field. In 1941 he was fired and stole a Boeing 307 Stratoliner with the intention of flying to England to join the RAF. By chance or fate that same day five escaped convicts hid in that same Boeing 307. The fugitives ordered him to fly to Boston, but in spite of that he headed for England and, along the way, managed to persuade the outlaws (Van Dyne dropped the parachutes out of the plane and threatened to crash the aircraft) to fight the Nazis. The unarmed Boeing 307 arrived in England during a German bombing raid, and the escapees managed to destroy an enemy bomber by throwing oil drums at it. They were immediately recruited by the Special Air Service (SAS). Under Van Dyne's leadership, the motley crew was dubbed the Death Patrol and adopted gray and black striped uniforms as a symbolic gesture. The Death Patrol insignia was a skull with a hat. The team proved to be highly effective, albeit at great cost, losing one member on each mission. Van Dyne himself was assassinated by a member of the French resistance while impersonating a high-ranking Nazi party official (with the intention of assassinating Hitler and ending the war). 

Delmer had a son, Delmer Van Dyne Jr. who followed in his father's footsteps in the air force and also in heroism. He was first part of the Ghost Guard, a group of unorthodox heroes, and then, again in the footsteps of his father, as the leader of a new Death Patrol.

Equipped with a specialized diving helmet, Dawson explored the wonders of the ocean and investigated its mysteries. During his adventures, Dawson encountered numerous underwater races, both hostile and friendly. He had an animal companion named Battler, who was a trained seal saved from poachers. Dawson was a master swimmer and deep sea diver. His equipment was made up of flippers, a wetsuit and the jewel in the crown, his special diving helmet capable of obtaining oxygen from the water and which also provided Deep Sea with an additional means of propulsion (magnetohydrodynamic). Mason also used to carry a knife and sometimes a speargun.

HISTORY 

As a child, Harley Hudson always felt a great fascination for two things: the masked heroes and the world of insects. As he was not the last son of a powerful star nor a mutant, he dedicated himself to cultivating his physical and mental alike, who knows if with the naive hope of one day becoming one of those heroes he idolized. At the very least, exercise and study earned him a full scholarship to NYU. He graduated as an honors student in entomology and biochemistry, as well as setting college records in various athletic disciplines. He found work as an assistant in the police department's forensic laboratory. After getting into a fortuitous accident, Harley discovers that he is capable of amazing things and becomes the masked hero known as Entomo, fulfilling his childhood dream. At that time he meets Joan Burton, a reporter with whom he begins to date and who is the only one who knows his true identity. Ultimately, Joan would end up being Harley's wife.

Flip Falcon was scientist and adventurer who invented the Fourth Dimension Machine, a device that allowed him to travel to any point in space-time (the 4th Dimension).
